The connection process depends on the applicable scheme, installation and network-operator procedure. This guide organises preparation. It is not an exhaustive binding document list and does not promise an approval period.
Identify the applicable procedure
Start with HEDNO's official Net Billing application information. Check the latest instructions for plant type, supply, location and operating arrangement. An old Net Metering application is not a reliable template for every new project.
For Crete, HEDNO directs applicants to its renewables application platform using the applicant's TAXISnet authentication. Do not send credentials through our contact form. A submission channel does not establish acceptance. Cross-check the instructions against the Ministry's current legislation index and our Net Billing framework guide.
Prepare the initial information
| Input | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supply number and account-holder details | Identify the installation |
| Bills and supply technical information | Demand and infrastructure assessment |
| Ownership or use rights | Confirm the basis for installation |
| Drawings and equipment details | Technical documentation |
| Storage or export-limitation objectives | Architecture and required checks |
Confirm the exact format and completeness of documents under the current process. Do not send personal documents to unverified addresses.
Coordinate the sequence
First establish needs and technical feasibility. Prepare and submit information according to official instructions. Review connection conditions before finalising binding equipment choices. Plan installation, tests and activation around the requirements of the particular case.
This is a general coordination outline, not a claim that all applications have identical steps or deadlines. Keep an explicit record of submitted versions and requests for additional information.
Reconfirm for every project
- Capacity and restrictions at the particular connection.
- Current forms, submission channel and any applicable charges.
- Contract conditions for imports and exports.
- Metering, protection, storage and commissioning requirements.
Changing the proposed size or operating mode can change what needs checking. A later battery addition should therefore be reviewed against the existing approved arrangement rather than treated as automatically covered.
Before ordering equipment
Request a written list of completed steps, outstanding dependencies and costs still awaiting confirmation. Experience from previous projects does not establish availability at a new property. Contact us for a Net Billing assessment with supply details and the intended operating objective.
Separate application from approval
Collecting documents and submitting an application do not mean that grid connection or operation has been approved. Ask the proposal to identify who prepares the file, what the owner must provide and which stages depend on a third-party decision or inspection. Retain reference numbers and document versions.
Requirements may vary by scheme, capacity and connection point. Before committing to equipment, check the current guidance on the official DEDDIE website and confirm the route applicable to your supply. This guide is a preparation checklist, not legal confirmation of eligibility.
Discuss your installation
Send your location, bills, operating hours and available roof space for an individual assessment.
